Do you love working with children?
Are you looking for a job where you can have fun in the summer sun AND make a difference in your community?
Come and join the staff at Camp Connor!

Camp Connor is looking for full time counselors to join us for the remainder of our summer program, which runs through August 19th.

Our summer program runs Monday-Friday 7:00am-5:30pm. Our counselors work either the am shift 6:45am-3:15pm or 9:15am-5:45pm with a half an hour lunch break built in.

Program Description: We provide a fun and safe outdoor and waterfront experience for children grades 1-8. The majority of our time will be spent alternating through small group activities, utilizing our recreational field, picnic area, trails, and waterfront. Activities include outdoor life skills, team building, sports and games, arts and crafts, music, kayaking etc. Our themes for each week may offer different and special activities, which may include on-site guests and special activities.

Program Mission: It is the goal of this program to provide the children of this community a curriculum where they are safe, supervised and motivated to participate in age-appropriate activities. Our objective is to promote good citizenship and a sense of community spirit through a fun and social atmosphere. At Camp Connor, we provide our campers with the opportunity to develop healthy relationships with their friends and peers in their community!

Our Camp counselors play an important role in helping the children in our community to develop social skills, and to form connections with same-aged peers and staff alike, while ensuring proper safety protocols.

Each Camp Counselor will be assigned to work with one group (consisting of, on average, 15, but no more than 20 campers of the same age group), unless assigned as a “float.” Each group will be paired up with a “buddy group,” consisting of another camp counselor and a group of close aged campers. If designated a “float” counselor, applicants must be willing and able to work with groups of any age. Float counselors primarily help out another counselor whose group requires additional support- floats may be asked to stay with the same group all day, or to move from group to group throughout the day, as needed. Whether assigned to a group or floating, the ability to communicate effectively and positively with campers, peer counselors, directors and families is vital to the success of the Camp Counselor position. Each Camp Counselor is expected to contribute to a working environment that is friendly, respectful, open and honest. Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper and are responsible for maintaining supervision and safety as well as planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out daily activities related to weekly themes that fulfill the mission of Camp Connor. Counselors exemplify and foster our core values: “respectul, responsible, safe, teamwork and choose kindness.”
